This is a brief overview of various types of massage techniques
Swedish Massage
The basic massage of any technique. In the 1820s a Swedish doctor, Dr. Per Henrik Ling, developed the first modern method
of massage through his study of physiology, gymnastics, and the massage techniques borrowed from China, Egypt, Greece,
and Rome. Swedish massage includes long gliding strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, and shaking motions. It is effective for
most ailments, because massaging the skin, the body's largest organ, sets up a chain reaction that produces a positive effect on
all layers and systems of the body. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, and promotes health and wellbeing.

Chair Massage
When a ten or twenty minute relaxation session is needed, this is the technique for you. You are massaged fully clothed in a
special chair designed to relax you. Because the chair is completely portable, you may see chair massage at the airport or health
club, or you may want a practitioner to come to your office or business to massage the staff or guests at a party. Rated Medium
Craniosacral Therapy
Within the craniosacral system is the cerebrospinal fluid that moves in a slight but perceptible tide-like manner. Craniosacral
therapists assist in facilitating change in areas of restriction where this tide-like motion is limited, confined, and immobilized. By
using a gentle light touch, this fluid becomes more rhythmic and balanced, and the central nervous system is restored.
Craniosacral therapy is helpful to those with MIGRAINES, irritable bowel syndrome, low back/ hip pain, nervous disorders,
motor-coordination impairments, attention deficit disorders, insomnia, and other problems. Craniosacral therapy was originally
developed in the early 1900's by an osteopath named William G. Sutherland and later refined and promoted by Dr. John
Upledger.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is designed to reach the deep portions of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibers. Using
deep muscle compression and friction along the grain of the muscle, its purpose is to unstick the fibers of the muscles and release
both toxins and deeply held patterns of tension. Rated Deep.
Hot Stone Massage
Developed in the Midwest for use in health spas, this technique uses stones that have been heated. These stones are
positioned on the body and some are gently moved about with light - deep pressure being exerted on the warm stones. It is
described at very warm hands. It also allows the therapist to work trigger points without causing discomfort.
Myofacial Release
Myofacial Release Therapy All muscles, arteries, bones, organs, etc. are held together by a Saran wrap kind of tissue called
fascia. Developed in the late 1960's by John Barnes, Myofascial Release works by the manipulation of the fascia that
connects and surrounds muscles. Because the fascia is body-wide, a tension or trauma in one part of the body can affect
another part. The fascia responds to the trained touch to release the adverse effects of inflammation, tensions and trauma.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy places strong demands on a woman's body and is a time for the body to be nurtured and pampered. This massage
not only relieves the tensions and aches caused by the extra weight and shift in the center of gravity to the body, but it reduces
swelling, soothes the nervous system, acts as a tonic, reduces fatigue, and enhances energy.
Infant Massage
Becoming increasingly popular, infant massage is usually taught to new mothers as a way of bonding with their newborn and of
encouraging infant health. Promoted by Vimala McClure, it incorporates nurturing touch, massage, and reflexology in a loving,
fun, one-on-one interaction. A study at the University of Miami showed that infants who received 15 minutes of massage a day
gained weight 47% faster and demonstrated other physical and neurological benefits.
Reflexology
Popularized in the United States by physiotherapist Eunice Inghram in the 1930s, this is an acupressure type technique
performed on the hands and feet and is based on the ancient Oriental theory that meridian lines or pathways carry energy
throughout the body. Because each zone or part of the body has a corresponding reflex point on the feet, stimulating that
reflex point causes stimulation in the natural energy of the related organ. Crystalline-type deposits and/or tenderness indicate
a dysfunction, and pressure is applied to clear out congestion and restore normal functioning and health.
Sport Massage
This special form of massage is typically used before, during, and after athletic events to prepare the athlete for peak
performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.
Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used including classic Swedish strokes, cross-fiber friction,
pressure-point work, and joint mobilization.
Trigger Point
Dating back 5000 years, trigger point or acupressure is part of traditional Chinese medicine and is often described as
"acupuncture without the needles." As a non-intrusive precursor of acupuncture, acupressure uses deep finger pressure applied
at certain points of pain. Because these points directly relate to organs and glands of the body, constrictions in the flow of
energy at these points causes disease and discomfort. Trigger Point stimulates these points to remove blockages, to increase
the energy flow, to reduce stress, and to promote health and harmony in
the body. Rated Medium
Structual Integration
Structural Integration is a scientifically validated body therapy. Unlike massage, Structural Integration focuses not on the
muscles but on their protective layer, called fascia (also known as connective tissue). Muscles are contracting tissues that give
the body and organs physical movement. The fascia surrounds the muscles, bones and organs in the body. The fascia gives
muscles their shape and the body its structure.
Structural Integration aligns and balances the body by lengthening and repositioning the fascia. As fascia is lengthened it
allows the muscles to move more efficiently. The practitioner will apply pressure to the body, working the entire fascial system in
a systematic way. When restricted fascia is released and lengthened the body can return to its structurally optimal position
The continuing pull of gravity, the stress of daily activities and physical injuries can pull the body out of alignment. The fascia
gradually shortens, tightens and adjusts to accommodate the misalignment. When the body is out of alignment it creates
inefficiency and imbalance resulting in stiffness, discomfort and loss of energy.
When a body is aligned and balanced it moves with greater ease. It requires less energy to function. Good posture is effortless
and breathing is easier. The body becomes more flexible, more coordinated and athletic performance improves.

This healthy inch loss program from Set-N-Me-Free is a toxin cleanse that creates a very definite size loss from fatty areas. The aloe vera in the
solution will moisturize, tone and tighten the skin to feel baby soft. No showering is needed after the wrap. The treatment and "all food" ingredients are
perfectly safe, healthy and very relaxing.
WHAT ABOUT MEDICAL PROBLEMS?
Anyone under a doctor's care should take this brochure and the list of ingredients from the Body Wrap Solution to their medical care provider. High
blood pressure, poor circulation, diabetes, etc. should not be affected as no salt, clay or chemicals are used, and the wrap cloths, or plastic film are not
applied tight to cause compression. While wrapped, you will be comfort- able and find the wrap experience very relaxing. People with cancer or immune
system problems should consult a physician before scheduling a body wrap treatment.
WHAT ABOUT DIETING AND EXERCISE?
People reducing on this program have kept off the inches and pounds better and easier than with any other weight loss system. Keep in mind that one
cannot continue eating at a size larger than they wish to be. Avoid alcohol, salt, spices, sugar and oils as these will keep the water you drink from flushing
though the lymphatic system to cleanse your body of the unwanted toxins and fat. Fat is not heavy so only about one pound of weight loss will occur -
after drinking water to flush the body.
HOW MUCH SIZE CAN I EXPECT TO LOSE?
Size loss comes first from new fat, while the aloe works to soften the older fat and cellulite areas. Sometimes cellulite will require 4 or 5 wrap treat ments
to soften these hardened cells. Each treatment will result in de creasing the softened areas. Fat across the back and areas under the arms lose easily as
cellulite in these areas is rare. As inches are lost, the skin will tone and tighten beautifully. Note sample of size loss chart at right. Imagine how long one
would have to diet to drop an inch in the buttock area. Most clients will feel the looser fit of clothing after only a few treatments.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY BODY WRAP?
You should bathe prior to coming for the body wrap treatment-using no bar soap or other cleansers, and use no lotions on the skin. Set-N-Me-Free
Aloe Body Wash will deep clean pores and remove dry surface skin. The skin will be ready to let the solution penetrate quickly with no film or residue to
impede the process. This wash should be the only cleanser used while taking a series of body wrap treatments.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The solution of aloe vera and natural USA herbs combine to penetrate through the protein wall that surrounds the fat cell and dissipate toxins from
the fat cells into the body's lymphatic system. In the lymphatic system, the toxins can be flushed from the body as one drinks water over the following 3
days. This movement causes a reduction in the size of the fat cell. The loss is quite measurable.
HOW CAN SET-N-ME-FREE BODY WRAP HELP CELLULITE?
Cellulite is formed in the tissues because the body's waste removal process has been slowed down. The increase in circulation resulting from daily
application of Aloe Heat Creme for three weeks, has shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite ripples for up to three months. Keep in mind that
cellulite removal will be a texture change, not much of a size loss. We see an 80% success in the reduction of cellulite appearance with 12-15 wrap
treatments.
HOW MUCH IS LOST DURING A SERIES OF WRAPS?
Best results are with a series of 12 wraps. Most people can lose up to two full clothes sizes with a series of 12 wraps taken 4-5 days apart. These
results can be accomplished by using Set-N-Me- Free Aloe Body Wash in the daily shower to keep the pores clean. The amount of food eaten must
be adjusted to the new size and a gallon of water must be consumed daily for 3 days after each wrap.
WILL THERE BE LOSS IN THE BREAST AREA?
The breast area will lose quickly if it is wrapped. Typical loss during two full-body body wrap treatments, including wrapping over the breast area, will
result in a need for a smaller size of bra. Do not wrap the breast if no loss there is desired.
HOW IS THE BODY WRAP APPLIED?
Cotton cloth strips are soaked in aloe and herbs, heated, and applied to the entire body in a mummy- style body wrap. Sometimes the professional tech-
nician will apply a gelled solution directly to the skin and wrap a layer of plastic film over the solution to keep it moist on the skin for continued
penetration. The wrap is not applied tight. The client will lounge comfortably for 45 minutes in the wrap. No perspiration should occur during the wrap
treatment, as perspiring would prevent penetration of the solution.
WHAT DO I WEAR WHILE BEING WRAPPED? The wrap cloths are applied over the bra and cotton underwear for women and workout
shorts for men. The solution product will not penetrate through synthetic clothing, therefore, cotton is always recommended. Bring a change of
undergarments because what you are wrapped in will get wet.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD TREATMENTS BE DONE?
It is perfectly safe to have treatments every day although it is not necessary. The solution stays in the body and continues to work for three days. Have
treatments every four or five days for best results, with no more than seven days between wraps as the fat will begin to harden again.
WILL MY LOST INCHES COME BACK?
People reducing on this program have kept off the inches and pounds better and easier than with any other weight loss system. Keep in mind that one
cannot continue eating at a size larger than they wish to be. Avoid alcohol, salt, spices, sugar and oils as these will keep the water you drink from flushing
though the lymphatic system to cleanse your body of the unwanted toxins and fat. Fat is not heavy so only about one pound of weight loss will occur -
after drinking water to flush the body.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER MY BODY WRAP?
Your skin will be unbelievably soft and smooth when the wrap is removed. Because the Wrap Solution is clean friendly, your body and skin will feel
toned and fresh, and not at all in need of a bath or shower. Schedule another treatment in 4-5 days and drink a gallon of water every day until the next
wrap.
WILL THE WRAP HELP WITH STRETCH MARKS?
Stretch marks are partial tears in the skin resulting from the stress of being overweight or from pregnancy. The stretched area becomes smaller during the
body wrap skin-tightening process, thereby reducing size and color of the stretch marks. Set-N-Me-Free Aloe Comfrey Gel will nourish the skin cells
for speed- ing the growth of fresh new cells. Apply this light gel daily after bathing.
WHAT IS SO IMPORTANT ABOUT DRINKING WATER?
Set-N-Me-Free body wrapping is a firming and toning process that produces results by detoxifying the body. This is not a water loss program, and
not a dehydration type of body wrap. The loss is due to toxins being moved from the fat cells into the lymphatic system. One must drink water to flush
the toxins from the lymphatic system. The body wrap solution continues to work in the body for three days. On the fourth day, have another body
wrap. Most times, the measures prior to the wrap will be even smaller than after the previous wrap because of the continued water flush.
